Visiting Soul Food Farm
We're proud of what we do and we love to show people where their chicken comes from, but this is a busy, working farm. You are welcome to stop by and buy eggs from our self-service cooler before 5 pm, but please do not ask for a tour or wander around the farm unsupervised.
The best way to see the farm is to sign up for a tour. Once a month, we offer an inside look at the farm's operations to a smallish group of people. From 11 am to 1 p.m., we'll show you around the farm, collect eggs, visit the meat birds, admire the pigs and cows, maybe work on a farm project, and answer any questions you have about raising chickens. The tour is followed by lemonade and a snack. If you want to, you can purchase chicken and eggs before you leave. (Bring a cooler!)
Farm tours are $15 per person,
children 7 and under are free. They happen rain or shine. Due to the tours' overwhelming popularity, we require you to purchase your ticket in advance through Brown Paper Tickets so we can know exactly how many people are coming.
The next tour is Sunday, May 29, 2011. There will also be one Sunday June 19. Reserve your spot via Brown Paper Tickets here.
Soul Food Farm is located at 6046 Pleasants Valley Road, Vacaville, CA 95688 (Google-map it)
